Email
Will all spam be detected?

No. All the email is scanned and assigned a score based on the likelihood that an email is spam. Thresholds (low scoring and high scoring spam) are used to determine whether an email should be tagged as spam: it is important that this is done to help avoid false-positives and false-negatives

Is all email tagged as spam, spam?

Not necessarily. The system is not foolproof and there will be instances where legitimate email is tagged as spam and where spam is not tagged as such. This is why only high scoring spam was tagged as spam, however you can change the setting in your cpanel:
a) login to cPanel
b) click on MailScanner
c) click on Other Settings
d) Change High scoring spam setting from default 10 to lower number for example 7
e) Click Change button to save the setting

I don't need (spam/virus) checking, can I only have email scanned for one?

Yes, you can configure the service to either scan for viruses, spam or both, please follow the following step:

1. login to your cpanel

2. look for MailScanner icon (normally at the last icon)

3. look for title "Change All Domain Settings"

4. under Spam Scanning you can set it to "yes" or "no". if set to "yes" MailScanner is enable, if set to "no" Mailscanner is disable and will not scan your email for Spam Mail. At the same time you can also decide to deliver or to delete the email tagged as spam for low scoring spam and high scoring spam (this functions will only work if Spam Scanning set to "yes". The same apply to Virus Scanning, you can set it to "yes" or "no" to enable or disable the anti virus checking. We strongly recemmend you set Virus Scanning to "yes" for your security.

Note: any changes to MailScanner configuration will take effect after 10 minutes.

Will viruses be deleted before I retrieve my email?

Yes, by default Virus Scanning is enable in MailScanner unless your disable it. All emails and file attachments will be scanned for viruses. If virus found, the virus is removed from the email before it is delivered to your mailbox, a text file attachment will be added to the email notifying you of the virus infection.

Will all viruses be detected?

Antivirus software will not be able to guarantee 100% detection, however nearly all infected files and dangerous file attachments should be detected by the antivirus software. The Antivirus software are configure to scans all incoming email only and not Outgoing email to speed up email delivery.

Do I still need a virus scanner on my computer?

Yes! viruses not only coming from email, there are many other ways that your computer can become infected. You should always install an anti-virus solution on every computer and ensure that it is constantly kept up to date.

How do I configure my email software to filter spam into a separate folder?

You should create a separate folder in your email client called Spam. You should then create an inbox rule to place any email containing the strings {Spam?} or {Definitely Spam?} into that folder.

What is the Anti-Virus Dangerous File Attachments?

How do I whitelist my own domain so email send inter domain will not be filtered

simply go to your cPanel, under MailScanner, click [email Black/whitelist setting], then fill-in *@yourdomain.com in the whitelist and then click on the [change] button, then click [back to the mailscanner configuration] and then click on [change] button once again to retart the mailscanner. You are done. Note: changes will take up to 10 minutes to take effect.

How do I white list an email or domain name from my frequent sender

Can your server support IMAP email client

Yes, we support both POP3 and IMAP email client, email setting available in cPanel as follow:
a) login to cPanel
b) click on Email Account, all email will be listed
c) click connect devices (located at right hand side of your email)
d) click set Up Mail Client, here you will see the setting needed to setup your em

What is a DNS?

DNS (Domain Name Server) is a system that translates a domain name from letters (www.domain.com) into a numerical IP address (23.227.133.221). Each time you register a domain name you must specify your DNS information. If you register a domain name through us, you can use DNS information free of charge! This is known in the industry as "parking" a domain- parking is free using our servers.

How long does DNS changes to take effect?

Typically, the DNS changes will be completed within 24 to 48 hours. This is standard Internet propagation time although it could be faster. The central registry databases update automatically, upon your submission of new information.

How to I transfer Mynic domain to First Online example .com.my, .net.my, .org.my, .my, .edu.my or .gov.my

The following steps needed in order to transfer .com.my, .net.my, .org.my, .my, .edu.my or .gov.my to First Online:

a)  login to Mynic domain control panel at https://wwwmynic.my
b)  Change your domain Invoicing Party to First Online (M) Sdn Bhd (R050)
c)  make your order from First Online webisite https://www.firstonline.com.my/eweb/domain_transfer/

Does it matter where I register a domain name?
No, you can register your domain name at any domain registration company of your choice. Once you have registered a domain name you may then sign up with us in order to host it.
How do I transfer .com domain away from First Online

Please follow this steps:
a)  login to your account at https://www.firstonline.com.my/eweb/login
b)  select Domain Management (from left-hand menu)
c)  Click on EPP Code to request for EPP code

If you lost your password, you can click forgot password button on the login page, new password will be sent to your email.  However if your email is no longer valid, you need to contact our office for manual processing where our staff may request for verification and documentation proof before assisting you to change your email.

What happen when my hosting company cannot be contacted and they are holding my domain password

It is very important for you to choose a proper hosting company to manage your domain name, avoid using sub-reseller or those who not running fulltime in hosting business.

Below is the steps can be taken:

For Mynic Domain name
For Mynic domain with extension .com.my, .net.my, .org.my, .my, .edu.my or .gov.my, please contact our Domain Registration Department at domreg@firstonline.com.my or telephone +607-3530011/+603-5521 8711, as Mynic Authorised Reseller we will be able to assist you to get Mynic to reset domain password for you.

For .com domain
For .com domain if you lost your domain password and email address in registrar database is not valid, there is no way for you to retrieve your domain name.  Please wait for the domain to be expired and released for public to apply than you can just apply for the same domain again, this process normally take about 60 to 90 days.

How do I transfer .com domain to First Online

You need to contact your hosting provider and obtain the following:

a) Request for domain name to be unlocked
b) Request for authorization code or also known as EPP code
c) Make order for domain transfer from https://www.firstonline.com.my/eweb/domain_transfer_internic

During the transfer process a verification email will be send to your current host and requires them to give authorization.  The transfer will take place if authorization is given.

Note:  Domain that recently registered or recently transferred cannot be transfer again within the first 60 days from the registration/tranfer date.

What is the full path to my cgi-bin?

cgi is not popular now and seldom being used.  However if you need it we are still supporting cgi in our server.  cgi-bin is located at /home/username/public_html/cgi-bin

Can I have CGI outside of the bin?

Yes, CGI will function in the public_html folder.

What version of Perl installed on your server?

Perl 5.x (subject to upgrading from time to time)

What version of PHP installed on your server?

PHP 5.6 and 7.x (subject to upgrading from time to time).  You can change the PHP version from Multi Manager in cPanel

What version of MySQL installed on your server?

MySQL 5.x-standard (subject to upgrading from time to time)

What is the correct path to Perl?
The correct path to Perl is /usr/bin/perl
Do you supporting sendmail?

No, to avoid spamming we have stop sendmail.  Please use smtp authenticate email in your PHP scripts.
